Ulta Haul!

Ulta Haul!

Well, it’s no secret that I LOVE makeup and LOVE Ulta…maybe a little too much, but oh well!  I love Ulta because it’s the best of both worlds, you have the high-end side and the drugstore side – they have everything any beauty/makeup lover could possibly want/need!!

I decided to treat myself to some goodies that I’ve had my eye on for a while now so I thought I would share them with you.  Here’s what I got in my most recent Ulta haul:

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.36.37 AM.png

Ulta Beauty Full Coverage Concealer $9
OMG if this isn’t the most perfect, affordable, drugstore concealer, I don’t know what is?! This concealer is so full coverage, so easy to blend out, and has a beautiful finish that doesn’t look cakey at all!

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.36.51 AM.png
Ulta Beauty Matte Makeup Setting Spray $10
I will never ever need to purchase any other kind of matte makeup setting spray because this Ulta beauty Matte Makeup Setting Spray is my new holy grail!  WOW does it work and for SO long!!!!  When I use this product, my makeup is locked in ALL DAY LONG – it’s amazing!!  It feels very wet when spraying on the face because it’s not a super fine mist, it’s more like a spritz, but it doesn’t dry that way, no spots left on your face, it has a wonderfully airbrushed finish and boy does it smell beautiful!

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.00 AM.png
Ulta Beauty Color Correcting Face Stick in “Yellow” $9
I use this product to try to conceal my [horrible] tattooed eyebrows because of course, they have that blue tone, which yellow counters/covers.  I really enjoy this color correcting stick, it has a nice formula that blends out nicely and doesn’t turn my foundation yellow!

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.07 AM.png
Ulta Beauty Gel Eyeliner Pencil in “Black Out” $8
I only really use eyeliner pencils to line my water line, not to create any type of winged eyeliner (I use liquid eyeliner for that), and this one gets the job done.  It’s not my absolute favorite eyeliner pencil because it’s not waterproof (my mistake for not looking harder for a waterproof gel eyeliner pencil) so it tends to smudge down onto my lower water line and a bit below my eye throughout the day, but it’s not a huge deal.  The color is super black and super pigmented – great for the cost.

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.15 AM.png
The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask $17
Can you believe I’ve yet to try this face mask?!  WHYYYYY?!  Stay tuned for my review…

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.22 AM.png
The Body Shop Skin Mattifying Lotion $15
If you didn’t already know, tea tree is amazing for oily skin, but so is moisturizing!!  The fact that this moisturizer has tea tree in it, makes it absolutely perfect for someone like me with incredibly oily skin!  I love this mattifying lotion, I really won’t purchase any other face moisturizer again – totally worth spending $15 for a daily moisturizer!

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.32 AM.png
Catrice Prime & Fine Professional Contouring Palette $7.99
Another product that I’ve yet to try, but it looks SO promising just based on the swatches! Review coming soon…

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.39 AM.png
Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pear Pore Cleansing Mask $4.29
Okay, so the Pear Pore Cleansing Mask is no longer available at Ulta (I got mine during a clearance event), but I have tried it and I do like it.  I think there are some better face mask options out there, especially from Freeman, but it’s not a bad face mask at all!  If you happen to stumble upon the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pear Pore Cleansing Mask, it’s a pretty good face mask, but personally, I prefer the above face mask by Freeman, the Mint & Lemon Clay Mask, which has similar ingredients to the Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask, but is obviously the more affordable choice – I would highly recommend the Freeman Mint & Lemon Clay Mask if you have problematic, combo, and/or oily skin!

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 7.37.46 AM.png
7th Heaven 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask $1.99
literally have this mask on as I type this blog post :o) I really really enjoy this mask.  First, the smell, is so nice and refreshing, not at all how I expected it to smell.  This mask doesn’t feel too heavy or sticky on my skin and it’s drying down nicely!  For $1.99, I really really enjoy this – I wish they sold this in a full-size version instead of the one-time use packs.

What kind of goodies have you found at Ulta lately???

Ulta Beauty Haul

Ulta Beauty Haul

I sure do love me some Ulta Beauty!  I love makeup in general, but Ulta is just the most perfect beauty store, EVER!  At Ulta, you get high-end beauty products AND drugstore products; it’s a one-stop shop, all the employees are so nice and so helpful, and it is my heaven!

A new Ulta store opened up near my work so I took full advantage and treated myself a bit during their Grand Opening weekend! Why not, it is National Splurge Day, right?!

Here’s the goodies that I got:

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.21.47 AM.png
Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquer in “Blue Right Past You” $6
The most gorgeous robin’s egg blue; perfect for my pale skin tone!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.23.05 AM.png
Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquer in “Showgirl” $6
I love corals against my pale skin tone, and this one is PERFECT for the summer!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.23.19 AM.png
Not Your Mother’s Way to Grow Long & Strong Shampoo $5.99
I ‘ve heard SO many great things about this shampoo, and I can’t wait to start using it!  My hair has never grown very quickly, and even though I use a buttload of heat protectants, it doesn’t help that I use heat on it almost every single day – hopefully this shampoo will help my hair grow longer and stronger as it claims to!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.23.31 AM.png
Ulta Matte Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette $20
OMG these shades are GORGEOUS!  I’m in love with matte eyeshadows and this palette is perfect for me!  Cool-toned, matte, extremely pigmented, and easy to blend out – what more can a girl ask for?!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.23.43 AM.png
Ulta Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette $20
I’m branching out from only using matte shades, and this palette seems like the perfect way to add some shimmer into my matte eyeshadow looks!  Rose gold is very in right now, and I’m into it – it’s my new obsession; these shades are PERFECT!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.26.21 AM.png
Ulta Matte Lip Cream in “Bossy” $9
I’m on the fence about this lip cream, I don’t find it very long-lasting, and it doesn’t really dry down.  It is matte, but by not drying down, it wipes off very easily.  The color isn’t perfect for my skin tone either, but that’s nothing against the product, obviously, that’s just me.

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.23.50 AM.png
Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in “03 Soft Browny Brows” $2.99
I always looked for this product in my local Target, but could never find it in the right shade; they always had the darkest brown OR the blonde, but never the middle shade, which is perfect for me, but of course, Ulta came through!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.24.03 AM.png
Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional: Matte Rescue Invisible-Finish Mattifying Gel Mini $10
I’m OBSESSED with this product – the cashier was absolutely right, once I tried it, I never ever want to use a different primer again!  It’s so mattifying, but doesn’t dry out my skin, and it literally sets the best base for my makeup.  I find that when I use this, my makeup just applies differently (SO MUCH BETTER) and makes me look airbrushed.  It’s my savior and my holy grail!!  I will definitely be purchasing the full-size – SO worth it!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.24.16 AM.png
Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in “Beloved” $5
For $5, these blushes are beautiful, creamy, super pigmented, and easy to apply and blend out!  Their only downfall is they don’t last a super long time, but I mean, for $5, they’re pretty fricken great!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 7.24.29 AM.png
Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in “Fusion” $5

What are some of your favorite beauty products at Ulta Beauty?

I also filmed this unboxing:

Extra money = makeup shopping spree, right?

I may have gone a tad overboard, but hey, I LOVE makeup and I will use every last drop of these products – scouts honor.

I have been dying to try most of these products and I’m so glad I finally took the plunge and got them for myself; an early birthday gift for me :o)

Here’s what I got:

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.49.31 AM.png

up & up Eye Makeup Remover $4.59
This is always a re-purchase; I absolutely love this waterproof eye makeup remover; nothing beats it!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.50.54 AM.png

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation $8.39
I have been wanting to try this foundation for the LONGEST time, and I’m so glad I actually took the plunge, it’s amazing!!!  It’s so creamy and has such great coverage!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.52.59 AM.png

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer $6.79
I’m not overly impressed with this concealer, but it’s not horrible.  I’ve been searching for a new, favorite concealer, but I’m still not sure this will be it.  It’s not a horrible concealer, I think my problem is the shade, it’s not light enough for me.  This concealer does have a nice consistency and is creamy, just like the foundation.  Not too shabby.

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.53.54 AM.png

L’Oréal® Paris Revitalift® Miracle Blur™ Instant Skin Smoother Oil-Free $18.99
I have been dying to try this as a primer, I’ve heard such amazing things about it!!!  I’m glad I finally purchased this for myself!  I think it was hyped up much more than it needed to be; it’s not like a miracle worker, but it does work as a nice, blurring makeup primer.  I do enjoy this product, I just don’t know if I love it enough to pay $18.99 for it [again].

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.54.58 AM.png

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge $4.89
Again, another re-purchase – these makeup sponges are the most comparable to the BeautyBlender, but so so so much more affordable, considering how much you should be replacing these makeup sponges, $4.89 is MUCH better than $20 every three months!  LOOOOOOVE!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.55.48 AM.png

Pixi By Petra Makeup Fixing Mist $15.00
I heard so many different mixed reviews about this makeup setting mist; I heard that the product was actually great, but the smell was along the lines of “old lady perfume.”  I smelled this and I’m happy to report that it does NOT smell like old lady perfume – it actually smells like that bath foam us 90s kids used to play with in the tub (SMELLS SO GOOD), but as a makeup setting mist, this stuff is absolutely perfect!  I will definitely be re-purchasing this, I fell in love with this!!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.56.39 AM.png

Sonia Kashuk® Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation $12.99
This was another product that I feel was overly hyped up and as someone with extremely oily skin, I was excited and intrigued to try this.  It’s a nice foundation, maybe I haven’t given it enough chances, but I’m not overly impressed with this foundation.  I will definitely try it out a few more times, but I don’t think it will be my new favorite, go-to foundation, it’s just okay.  It’s not a bad foundation at all, I just think the hype made it sound like it was gonna be a life-changer, but it’s not; my expectations were a bit too high.

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.57.33 AM.png

Maybelline® Dream Matte® Mousse Foundation $6.79
OMG where has this foundation been my whole life and why haven’t I used this before?!!  I LOVE this foundation!  This foundation gives my skin the matte, soft look that I expected from the Sonia Kashuk foundation that I was disappointed in.  I absolutely love this foundation!!!  YAAASSSSS!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.58.33 AM.png

up & up Makeup Remover Wipes $3.84
This is a re-purchase, of course.  I love these makeup remover wipes; apparently I really like Neutrogena products because this, and the up&up eye makeup remover that I use are both comparable to the Neutrogena products.  These makeup remover wipes are so effective!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 10.59.30 AM.png

e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation $6.00
For $6, this foundation is great!!  It’s, of course, not AMAZING, but it is a really nice foundation for oily skin; I have no complaints.

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 11.00.27 AM.png

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation $7.99
This is a re-purchase because this is my “every day” foundation that I use for work because it has great coverage, doesn’t get cakey, and it controls the oil all day.  LOVE!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 11.01.20 AM.png

Garnier® SkinActive® Micellar Waterproof Cleansing Water $3.49 (trial size) $6.99 (full-size)
OMG I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!!!!  This is my new daily cleanser water to use before I actually go in with a cleansing facial wash!  I JUST FOUND OUT THERE IS ONE FOR OILY SKIN – YASSS!  LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 11.02.51 AM.png

Palladio Rice Paper Tissues $5.31
This product is genius, it’s a blotting paper, but ALSO applies translucent powder; love killing two birds with one stone!  AMAZING, and so affordable!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 11.03.58 AM.png

Palladio Powder Finish Foundation $8.91
This foundation somewhat reminds me of that e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation – not bad at all, but not my favorite; I just find I’m not reaching for it all the time.  It does wear very well all day, especially for us gals w/ the oily skin.

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 11.05.21 AM.png

JORDANA Color Envy Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – Black Envy $13.95 (6-pack)
I originally bought these because I thought they were “pen” form, but they’re not, they’re the typical brush type; HOWEVER, it is the blackest eyeliner I have ever used, and it wears so well throughout the day!  I’m getting better at using the brush and I think I’m not addicted to using this eyeliner!!  Yay!

Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 12.25.16 PM.png

e.l.f Precision Liquid Eyeliner $2.72

I also filmed a video opening all these beauties, which you can view here:

eBay Finds!

eBay Finds!

Oh, eBay, how I love you so!  Every now and again I like to sign into eBay and search for some great [beauty] finds, and this time, I found some goodies!!

I know that some people are pretty skeptical of the beauty finds on eBay, but I’ve never had a problem with them, so I don’t really mind.

Here’s what I found on eBay this go-around:

Screen Shot 2017-01-15 at 12.23.21 PM.png

Kylie Jenner Eyeliner $4 (I couldn’t find the exact link, but this was as close as I could find)
HATED this eyeliner!  I’m a huge felt-tip eyeliner pen lover, but this one was awful.  The felt-tip had NO give whatsoever and it was so damn pointy it just hurt my eye to even try to apply it.  I tried to use it twice, but it sucked, so I stopped trying!  UGH!

Screen Shot 2017-01-15 at 12.23.59 PM.png

Kiss Proof Lipstick in “04” $1.27
This specific shade is very pink, but it’s so adorable and summery, it’s gorgeous!  When they say “Kiss Proof,” they REALLY mean it!  I swatched this and it took me forever to get it off my hand!  I mean, for $1.27, HOW can you beat that?!!  These lippies really live up to their hype!

Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in Candy K Review .jpg

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lip Kit in “Candy K” $4.99 (Again, I couldn’t find the exact link, but this is the closest I could find)
Although I am not a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner family/brand, I was curious about these and I really do like them; however, I’ve heard that they’re made in the same factory as the colourpop liquid lipsticks, so I think they’re actually the same formula.  I like the formula of these matte liquid lipsticks; if you use a little lip balm before you apply, it doesn’t dry out your lips as much.

Screen Shot 2017-01-15 at 12.32.25 PM.png

iPhone Adhesive Ring $0.99
These little rings are perfect, they’re so easy to apply to the back of my phone!  I like to use them as a little phone stand so I can catch up on my YouTube subscriptions while I get ready, but it also comes in handy when I’m taking pictures/videos so it doesn’t fall!

All in all, I’d say these were pretty good eBay finds!  What fun stuff do you find on eBay???

I also filmed a video showing all my eBay finds:

Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Baby Shower Gift Ideas

2017 is finally here, which means our new niece will be here soon – she is due to be here at the end of February 2017 and I’m pumped!

love to get people unique gifts that tend to be out of the box or stuff you don’t know you need until you need it.  I set a budget for the baby shower gifts, but then I was able to get a ton of these gifts at a discount so I had money left in the budget…naturally, I bought even more stuff :o)

In preparing for her baby shower, I thought it might be fun to post everything that I bought, just in case you also have an upcoming baby shower that you might need some unique gift ideas for.

Here’s the fun gifts I got for my sister-in-law and new baby niece:

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.33.22 PM.png

Carter’s 5-Pack Original Bodysuits $16

I’m going to use these adorable onesies and socks to create a little cupcake box gift like this one:

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.42.54 PM.png

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.33.47 PM.png

Carter’s 2-Pack Babysoft Pants $13

These were on sale for Buy One Get One Free with the above 5-pack bodysuits!  GREAT deal @ Babies R Us!!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.34.01 PM.png

Carter’s Hooded Sherpa Bunting $36

COME ON!!  This is the most adorable bear suit, EVER!  It is so incredibly soft and it will look adorable in pictures!  She is due to be born mid-Winter so this should be perfect to keep her warm on those cold, New England Winter days!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.34.16 PM.png

Love You Nightlight $15.99

ADORABLE Nightlight, this will be such a great addition to her nursery!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.34.28 PM.png

My Aunt & Uncle Love Me Bib $10.99

I know this bib is quite simple, but I thought it was cute and a nice little gift to show how excited we are to have a new niece!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.34.39 PM.png

MeasuPro Room Thermometer $19.99

We all know you can set your thermostat at a certain temperature, but each room can actually be a different temperature.  I thought this room temperature egg would be great to help simplify their lives.  I love the color-changing effect, that way they can just walk by the room and easily check to see if the room is a comfy temperature for their new baby! At $20, you can’t beat it!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.34.48 PM.png

Fruit Teether Pacifiers (2-pack) $9.99

These are great to soothe your teething baby’s sore gums!  My other nieces and nephew love these to soothe their gums, but love to suck the juice out of fruit, so they can get natural fruit juice.  They also have mesh teether pacifiers, but those can be quite tricky to clean, especially strawberry seeds that get stuck in the mesh.  $10 for a 2-pack is a great deal!  Mine even came with a free pacifier clip!!  SCORE!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.35.02 PM.png

Old Navy Non-Skid Printed Socks 3-Pack for Baby $5.99

Old Navy Crew-Sock 4-pack for Baby $5.00

I’m going to use these socks with the onesies for the cupcake box!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.35.47 PM.png

Munchkin 7oz Weighted Straw Sippy Cup $6.99

This cup is great because the weighted straw helps to always keep the straw inside the juice when the baby/toddler tips the cup so they’re always actually getting juice/water and not just sucking up air, getting frustrated!  It’s a nifty little cup!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.36.18 PM.png

Munchkin White Hot® Safety Spoons (4pk) $3.82

As a new mom, it can be very nerve-wracking to know what is safe for your new baby and I think these are a great way to help ease that nervousness.  The colored rubber part of the spoon turns white if the baby’s food is too hot.  What a great idea for new parents!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.37.32 PM.png

Dreambaby Room and Bath Thermometer – Yellow Duck $11.95

Again, knowing what is safe for your baby is nerve-wracking, but this bath thermometer should help with that!  I love that this bath thermometer re-checks the temperature every 10 seconds!!  It also has a neat little light to indicate if the water is too hot or too cold – AWESOME.

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.37.38 PM.png

Itzbeen Pocket Nanny $24.99

This nifty little device seems like such a great idea for new parents!!  It keeps track of EVERYTHING that you need to track for your newborn, right down to diaper changes, naps, feedings, and even which breast you last fed from!  Incredible find!!  I hope this helps to make their life as new parents a little easier.

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.37.44 PM.png

Reversible Bandana Bibs by Rench Babies $20.97

I got these at a deep discount, but I think they are absolutely adorable!  There are four in the pack, but they are reversible, so it’s like getting eight.  My sister-in-law is pretty fashionable and is always on top of the latest trends, so I think she will really love these bandana bibs!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.37.53 PM.png

The Original Cushy Closer Door Cushion (Charlotte Pink) $16.99

We all know the cardinal rule – NEVER wake a sleeping baby…EVER!  This little cushion easily slides between the door jam so you can close the door nice and quietly.  You’ll never have the possibility of waking your baby by slamming a door again!

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 2.38.02 PM.png

Baby’s First Year Calendar Keepsake with Milestone Stickers $8.97

These keepsake calendars are great, they come with cute little stickers so you can track your baby’s first year.  You can track their first smile, first giggle, when they started crawling and walking, etc.  What a good idea for new parents, and they also come in handy if you ever decide to have more than one child – that way you can compare them to see where each child was at each stage of their first year!

I’m pretty pleased with all of these gifts for the baby shower; I think they’re pretty unique, some expected, but others unexpected and I think they’ll be pretty happy with them.  Here’s to hoping!

I also filmed a video where you can see all of these giftie goodies:

Hey guys! You all know how much I love Target, but did you know I’m ALSO addicted to IKEA???  If only it were closer to my house!  It’s about a 45-minute drive for us so I don’t get up there as much as I’d like…which is probably good for my budget ;o)

My husband and I took advantage of a free weekend and headed up there and I actually ended up with a little mini-haul.  Here’s what I got during this most recent IKEA haul:

  • SKURAR Candle Holder $2.49
    • I know this is a candle holder, but I thought it would be adorable to use as a makeup brush holder in my dressing room
    • I already have a white makeup desk, and mirror (both from IKEA), so why not finish that chic, white look with a beautiful white makeup brush holder
  • INBRINGA Candle Dish $1.99
    • I got these for my mother and sister
    • It drives me nuts that they don’t use candle trays/dishes (SUPER dangerous)
    • I got three of these
  • SKURAR Candle Dish $1.99
    • I also got these for my mother and sister
    • Giving them the gift of safety ;o)
    • I got three of these
  • SINNLIG Tealight Candles (Apple) $2.99 (30-pack)
    • I got hooked on these when I FIRST moved out of my parents house
    • Almost 8 years later and I’m still hooked on this apple scent
    • I actually got two [30] packs
  • SINNLIG Tealight Candles (Vanilla) $2.99 (30-pack)
    • I’m not usually a huge fan of vanilla scented candles, but these smell so delicious!!
    • They smell like a vanilla ice cream cone (both the ice cream and the delicious-smelling cone)
  • SINNLIG Tealight Candles (Calming Spa) $2.99 (30-pack)
    • This scent is so pleasant and calming
    • It really does remind me of a spa scent
    • It smells like a light cologne – super clean
  • GLIMMA Tealight Candles (Unscented) $3.99 (100-pack)
    • IKEA Tealights burn very nicely – GREAT quality!
    • I have two tart wax warmers from Yankee Candle so I’m constantly using unscented candles
    • Honestly, tea lights don’t last incredibly long so on the weekends, I tend to go thru a couple a day
    • The 100-packs are great
      • I actually got two [100] packs

I also filmed a video where you can view all of these products:
